Label founded in 1978 by Daniel Lavoie and Réjean Rancourt (Rehjan Rancourt). The label can sometimes be credited as "Disques Traffic" and "label", due to French business naming laws.
In the summer of 1987 CBS Records Canada Ltd. / label took over manufacturing and distribution for Trafic.
In the summer of 1989 distribution for Trafic changed to MCA Records Canada.
