Born in the spring of 1996 and originally run by Hecate & DJ Kareem, the duo went separate ways after Zhark 00002. Hecate formed Zhark International (first titled Zhark London), covering broken and caustic beats and tortured ambience, while Kareem formed the company Zhark Recordings Berlin and continued to use the label name and logo Zhark, churning out more 4/4 kick drum attacks.
