Spanish record company, established in 1962 in Madrid as subsidiary of the Dutch Philips Phonografische Industrie NV and later of Phonogram International BV.
Previously Philips presence in Spain was by label / label. They released and distributed in the Spanish market labels as Charisma, Mercury, London Records, MCA Records, Philips, Polydor, etc. Manufacturing and distribution for Spain also included the CBS label prior to the founding of Discos CBS, S.A., Madrid in 1970.
Fonogram, S.A. also operated a vinyl and cassette manufacturing plant, that later became label. Lacquer cuts and pressings are identifiable by 850 in the runouts.
In 1984 they were merged with Polydor, S.A. into PolyGram Ibérica, S.A..
