British jazz label.
Label Code: LC 6145 / LC 06145
Founded by John Jack with Mike Westbrook in 1973, initially to release Westbrook's live album which was turned down by RCA (with whom Westbrook had a contract) because of its recording quality. The new label's name referred to Westbrook's then new band Solid Gold Cadillac.
In the following years and often in association with Ogun, Cadillac has built a catalogue of some of the most important contemporary jazz created in the UK. When John Jack died in 2017 the label passed to artist who had worked with Jack from the mid 1980s. On May 25, 2018 Cadillac released a recording of Mike Westbrook - the Last Night at Ronnie Scott's Old Place, on Jack's birthday as a tribute and exactly 50 years after the original event.
