In 2001, Jeph Jerman changed the name of his cottage industry label from Animist Recording to AARC. AARC is an acronym which could stand for a number of things, but is not fixed to one interpretation. The label is solely in existence to release, and re-release, recordings by Jeph Jerman and his collaborations with others.
