The WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk) is a German public service radio and TV broadcaster for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, based in Köln (Cologne). It originated in 1956 after the separation of the label (NWDR) into the NDR and the WDR, and is one of the largest European stations.
