Pioneer Greek label founded in December 1968 by Μάκης Μάτσας (company name was "Μίνως Μάτσας & Υιός Α.Ε." - "Minos Matsas & Son Co. Ltd.") replacing Odeon.
The name "Minos" was given to the label as a tribute to Makis Matsas' father, Μίνως Μάτσας.
The label's first release was the album 3636041 that bore the cat# MSM 101.
The label and its logo was used as a series by P.I. Records for their US releases.
It was also used as a phonographic copyright holder for Μίνως Μάτσας & Υιός Α.Ε.'s international releases (normally indicated by (P)).
In October 1990, EMI Greece S.A. purchased the majority share of Μίνως Μάτσας & Υιός α.ε., forming a new company, Minos-EMI S.A.
