Yogi Haughton

DJ/producer/promoter/journalist, originally from Manchester now residing in Scotland, Yogi Haughton is generally regarded by many as the man that brought house and techno to Scotland in the mid 80's.

He was in the first wave of residents at Glasgow's Sub Club when it opened, also Edinburgh's Hoochie Coochie and Motherwell's Club 9 (voted the best club in Scotland on numerous occasions back in the day), also a veteran DJ of many of the UK’s top weekenders (Southport/Prestatyn), and his own Scottish Soulful Weekender (SSW).

Yogi was also at the forefront of the U.K. Warp bleep sound where he played regularly with Nightmares On Wax, Unique 3 and Sheffield’s Winston Hazel during the early 90’s.

Yogi has been at this game for some time, there is no doubt that his record collection, now around 70,000 strong has stood him in good stead, An incredible ability to play in just about any sphere of black music at the highest level, either a northern/modern soul gig, jazz gig, rare soul or a bread and butter house night.
