Unsane

Noise rock trio from New York City, USA, formed in 1988. Essential line-up: Chris Spencer (The Cutthroats 9), Vincent Signorelli (Swans) and Dave Curran (The Cutthroats 9 & The J.J. Paradise Players Club). The original lineup consisted of Spencer, Pete Shore and drummer Charlie Ondras, who'd passed away from a drug overdose in 1992. In early August 2019, Chris Spencer announced the band was permanently ceasing activity, but on 27th August 2021, Spencer announced the formation of a new lineup of Unsane via the band's Instagram page, alongside new members Cooper and Jon Syverson, with the specific focus on performing the band's early material. The video for the song Scrape (from their 1995 album 52066) received a lot of airplay on MTV and became their biggest hit to date.

Note: in order to avoid confusion with the heavy metal band of the same name, they often use the suffix "NYC".
