Blowfly is the stage name and alternate persona of Clarence Reid (born February 14, 1939 in Cochran, Georgia; died January 17, 2016 in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida), who was a songwriter for many hit R&B acts in the 1960s and 1970s.
When he was young, he walked to Miami, Florida and joined the music industry, starting out playing nightclubs in Overtown with his band The Delmiras (sometimes spelled Delmyras or Delmirals, or even Delmiros).
