Michael "Mickie" Duwe, West Berlin-based German singer and score composer, born October 31, 1949.
Duwe became much travelled on the Berlin underground scene since the 1960's. In the early 1960's, he was part of school bands and had local solo projects. In 1967, he joined the Agitation Free-precursor band "The Agitation" as a singer for a short time. In 1969, he became part of the cast of the German franchise of the musical "Hair" and he toured through the German speaking countries for more than one year.
In 1972, he joined Ash Ra Tempel in Switzerland and was vocalist on the recording of their album "Seven Up", which they recorded together with Dr. Timothy Leary.
Back in West Berlin in early 1973, he joined the freshly formed band artist as a singer. He stayed with the band until its split in 1976. In the last period of the band, he got first offers to produce scores for theatre and film. He also co-founded the music agency "Albatros", responsible for numerous concerts of international artists in the late 1970's in Berlin.
In 1978, he started his solo project "artist", the work on his first album was the first cooperation with Electronic musician Klaus Schulze. Other collaborating artists on this and later recordings were were Conny Plank, Manuel Göttsching,artist, Michael Shrieve, artist and artist.
Since 1994, he is mainly composing and producing soundtracks for popular German documentaries and film, as "Terra-X" and "Polizeiruf 110".
