Birds of Tin was an experimental sound-art project based in the U.S. Early works were often described as "ambient", but later albums seemed influenced more by esoteric pursuits such as the "chance operations" philosophies of John Cage. Indeed, an album like, "Motion Mimic" sounds like an audio rendition of a Jackson Pollock painting with wisps flittering and fluttering about freely.
