Swedish guitarist and composer based in Uppsala, born on May 3, 1952 in Falkenberg, Halland.
As a band member or sideman, Apetrea played with Samla Mammas Manna, Mikael Rickfors, Jukka Tolonen and artist. He has also had projects under his own name, in which, among others, Jojje Wadenius participated. He collaborated from 1977 to 2003 with the Finnish guitarist Jukka Tolonen. Together they made 6 albums with bands and two acoustic duo / guitar albums. He toured Europe with around 150-200 concerts / year and performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Roskilde Festival, etc. He also wrote the vignette for Björnes magasin.
In recent years, Apetrea has released solo albums with the Finnish progressive metal record company Lion Music as release (2006) and release (2008).
As a producer and composer, Coste Apetrea has written music for the photographer artist's film "The Miracle of Love" and artist's & Rigmor Robert's film "Flickor kvinnor och en och annan drake," collaborated with artist and Mikael Rickfors, and most recently with Akiiki (Soul R&B) and a large number of other artists.
He toured with his original group Samla Mammas Manna in Japan, USA, Europe, Canada and Russia until 2008 when one of the members, Lars Hollmer, passed away. In 2025 Coste Apetrea is again touring as leader of his new band: Samla Revisited.
