Din (A) Tod

Sven and Claudia formed DIN [A] Tod in 2003, bored by bands that follow the usual line up of “guitar/bass/drums.” They purchased a solid base of analogue synthesizers, drum sequencers and recording equipment and went to work. Musically, they started out by merging the sound of the early Eighties – from Joy Division to early Sisters of Mercy – with minimalist electronics to create a musical mixture that is just as intriguing as it is catchy. They recorded their first demo in 2004 and started playing concerts. In 2005, they signed with Out of Line Music and released their debut single on 10” picture vinyl.

They then deliberately took their time for recording the album „The Sound of Crash“, released in autumn 2007, in order to avoid stylistic repetition and stagnation. Phelix, of the group Mercydesign, was integrated as a third band member and DIN [A] Tod started working on new tracks in Frankfurt and Berlin.
