Irish singer/songwriter born in Dublin on April 12, 1980. After attending the auditions he managed to become a member of the band Westlife (then called "Westside"), together with his friend Nick Byrne. After several years of immense success he decided to leave the band in 2004, so he would be able to spend more time with his wife and children. Shortly afterwards he started his solo career, which went quite well in the U.K., Ireland and other European countries. His marriage to Kerry Katona however came to an end during that same period.
He then married Delta Goodrem, after releasing 'Almost Here'. The controversy concerning how he had treated his previous spouse and how he had left his children to go and live in Australia with Goodrem saw 'Irish Son' struggle to hit the UK and Ireland charts, The song was released following a large media build-up due to the success of his first single. However, the launch of the song was marred by controversy when many radio stations and music channels banned the song and its accompanying music video due to the song's lyrical content and the bad reflection focused on CBS schools in Ireland. Even Sir Elton John disregarded the single, noting that it was 'just horrible'. In turn, it struggled to the number six position. However, 'Almost Here' hit number one in each artists' respective countries, Australia and Ireland. It charted for a whole ten weeks in Australia.
Brian then went on to leave Sony BMG, creating his own record in the meantime before finally joining Universal Music Australia to release his second solo album, 'Set In Stone'. 'Like Only A Woman Can' was released through his own record, BMF - In Ireland only. Brian went on to release 'Wall Of Soundz', a duet with Kevin Rudolf and Ronan Keating.
Following the controversy surrounding the horrific 'Just The Way You Are', and a split with his fiancée Delta, Brian's singles 'Come Party' and 'That's How Life Goes' did not chart at all, same with the album 'The Irish Connection'.
In 2016, Brian formed a duo boyband with ex-Boyzone member Keith Duffy to form a Westlife/Boyzone boyband 'Boyzlife'. The group released their first album, a cover album, 'Strings Attached' in 2020 and a follow up in 2022, in the form of their first original album 'Old School'
