Who is Sascha Ebert, anyway? Well, I have to admit that I find it quite difficult to describe myself, but I’ll give it a try anyway: I was born on October 16, 1985, which means today I am around 19 years old. We’ll just skip over my childhood and other such stuff here and check it off as "happy."
Music? I got into music, specifically electronic dance music, when I was about 12 years old. Guess what the program was called that got me into producing: Magix Music Maker :D. But anyone who knows that program knows that the possibilities are rather "limited," and anyone who sticks with music-making soon wants more.
Since I also started playing guitar at the age of 9, I had basic musical training early on. My interest in computers then helped me work my way through Fruity Loops and Reason, eventually landing on Cubase to produce North German Progressive Trance.
But producing (well!) alone is obviously not enough! And this is exactly where some of my many traits come into play: I’m not exactly shy; instead, I’m very ambitious and I don’t give up easily! So, I handed out demo CDs to DJs at pretty much every party. Admittedly... it took a very, very long time before I achieved anything with that, BUT I had a bit of luck ;-)
That’s how I met Blue Nature and Axel Konrad from Groove Coverage, who enabled my entry into the "professional" music business through remix commissions. Yes... so that’s where I stand right now, and I hope that I might get a little further! To Be Continued...?
My DJ Name? I get asked quite often how I came up with my DJ name... especially because of the unusual spelling :-) I’ve had the name "Iceman" for as long as I’ve had a nickname at all, so probably since I was about 9. Back then, I thought the image associated with the name was cool. And the spelling "IC3M4N" probably came about somehow through PC gaming :D.
But to this day, I still like the name and the spelling. It catches the eye and has good recognition value. For that, I accept the occasional slip-up: a presenter from Sunshine Live once introduced me as "THE I - C - THREE - M - FOUR - N" X-). Some people just like to make things difficult for themselves... For those who don't know yet: IC3M4N >>> pronounced "Iceman"!
Character? I’ve got one of those! But what’s it like..? Well, I am definitely not a macho, but I’m not shy either. And I would describe myself as quite humorous, but what's important is that the people around me say the same thing :-) So, that gives us an open-minded joker.
Furthermore, I am very spontaneous and quite a party person. It happens sometimes that I go out to party 4 times in a normal week! So, I am also NOT boring... and everything doesn't have to be perfectly organized. Other than that, I’m a bit crazy and a bunch of other things that I don't feel like writing down anymore X-).
