Born Jaculyn Bless Ross in St. Louis, Missouri ( January 30, 1946 ) is an R&B/soul/pop singer often compared stylistically to Mary Wells who became famous during the early-mid 1960s. She is best remembered for the soul classic, "Selfish One," featuring a horn riff in both the introduction and bridge that quotes the traditional pop standard, "Tenderly."
