Ayla is the recording and performing name used by German trance music producer, songwriter and DJ, Ingo Kunzi. Ayla is the recording and performing name used by German trance music producer, songwriter and DJ, Ingo Kunzi.

The project was created in 1995 by Ingo Kunzi, along with the single of the same name,"Ayla" went onto be remixed by Taucher as the single's most known remix. It entered the UK Singles Chart at #22. After "Ayla's" success Kunzi co-wrote/produced the collaborative track "Ayla Part 2" in 1998, which entered the German sales chart top 40. In the same year, Kunzi remade Cosmic Baby's "Liebe" and entered at #1 in the German dance chart.

Ayla's fifth single, "Angelfalls" was released in 1999, which went to the top 3 of the German dance chart. In late 1999, Ayla released his first album, Nirwana, which went gold in Norway and Singapore. Kunzi went on to produce two more Ayla tracks ("Singularity" / "Brainchild II, Sun Is Coming Out"), before taking a break on the project in 2003.

After putting his Ayla project on hiatus for many years, Kunzi released the digital single, "Ayla 2010", in 2010. On 23 February 2011, the second Ayla studio album, 'Unreleased Secrets', was released.
